Wine Tours and Tastings
There are countless numbers of wineries to inquire about. If you must research the wineries on the internet and pick out several wineries you would like and want to visit. However, for the best experience gain information from a local
limousine touring company.  and even better yet, put yourself in their hands and tour the wineries in a limousine. They will have the foremost knowledge of whichever wineries will best suited for your needs. If you need to stretch a dollar, as many do these days, tour the wineries in  larger groups. There are numerous ways of tasting and touring wineries, such as horse and carriage.

Numerous wineries are open 10 am to 4:30 pm. A few of the wineries may have extended hours during the summer. Winter, of course, has the shortest schedule but there is still ample time to fully enjoy your touring and tasting. The more recent wineries may have free tastings and tours. Tasting fees are approximately $5 - $20 per person and a few at no charge. The cost tours varies from $20 per person on up. Most touring companies have that cost in their fee. If you're on a short weekend trip hire a wine touring company and let them do the driving while you have a fun. For wine touring and tasting companies click here.

When is the best time to visit Napa Valley?

The Napa Valley is beautiful nearly any time of year.

With the exception of Valentine's Day and Columbus Day weekend, which are booked to capacity, December thru March are the slowest months. There are many repeat visitors this time of the year, enjoying the vibrant wild mustard blossoms during the Mustard Festival in Calistoga. Other festivals, this time of the year are the Jazz Festival also in Calistoga and "A Taste of Yountville" in Yountville.

With January thru March being a bit idle, is inviting to many who would rather saunter to a wine tasting and leisurely enjoy the wines of the day. One can get the best table in their favorite restaurant. Airfare and lodging rates are very low, many guests stay for a week rather than just two or three days.

April thru June is always a great time of the year to visit Napa Valley. The air is fresh and sweet, the grapevines are bursting, and the trees are blooming bright colors of  pink and yellow and white, and Napa Valley is alive again. The valley begins to be more and more active. The weather is considerably nicer with occasional rain tapering off in June, with very little rain.

Part of June thru August, Summer, is the fulcrum of the Napa Valley's tourist season; the busiest and best for all including families. Who doesn't like Summer and all the pampering possibilities of a spa, a scenic wine tasting tour, and a wonderful dinner at one of Napa's world renowned restaurants. And recreational possibilities like biking or hiking on one of the many hillsides or kayaking down the Russian River or a hot air balloon ride. The weather is super with day temperatures up to 80° and occasionally  90° or a bit more. Nighttime temperatures stay steady between 55° - 60° or a occasionally a bit higher.

Late September thru the first of November with it's glorious colors of change approaching, is a picture to behold. Even in late fall Napa Valley experiences Indian Summers where it can be well into the upper 80s up to the middle of October. This time of the year is still quite busy with harvesting of grapes (also called the "Crush"). The wineries are busy crushing the grapes, preparing the grape juice for wine, and processing the to be wine into tanks or barrels for storage and fermentation. It's not really that easy, but most of us are 'in' for the final product anyway.

From Thanksgiving to New Years the Napa Valley visitation decreases considerably. Rooms and airfare prices are at their best for the calendar year. No waiting, no lines, no rush for anything. Whenever you visit Napa Valley we hope you enjoy your stay.

After reading this, it might be a good time to book your vacation several weeks to a several months ahead of time. For specialty hotels, spas, and restaurants you may have to book a year in advance.
